Scott Northern Wake Campus

Scott Northern Wake Campus
The 127-acre Scott Northern Wake Campus opened in 2007 as the first college or university campus in the U.S. to have all campus buildings LEED®-certified by the U.S. Green Building Council. It offers an extensive University Transfer program, and career programs in Automotive Systems, IT, Health and Fitness Science, Baking and Pastry Arts, and skilled trades such as HVAC, plumbing, and welding. It also offers a variety of Workforce Continuing Education (non-credit) classes. It is the home of the Hendrick Center for Automotive Excellence and the Conlon Hall gymnasium, which hosts the Wake Tech Eagles basketball and volleyball home games.

Reach and Rally LogoReach & Rally Strategic Plan

While Wake County has one of the nation's most dynamic economies, data suggest challenges in providing ladders to opportunity. The county is a nationally recognized magnet for people relocating for high wage jobs, yet it trails in economic mobility. Compared to most other metropolitan regions, people who grow up poor in this community are more likely to stay poor as adults. By identifying as the region's "ladder college," Wake Tech's strategic mission is to confront this challenge through "laddering" or "ladder economics." Laddering is the continuous development and clear delineation of attainable steps to meaningful career opportunities with living wages through training and education at Wake Tech and in collaboration with our strategic partners. Effective laddering involves the continuous backward mapping of employer skill targets into program requirements, and the forward scaffolding of program elements to jobs and career opportunities in our regional economy.
